James Coats was an influential member of the Paisley Jury. He established Paisley’s J & P Coats Threadworks.
John Goldie became editor of the Paisley Advertiser, the town’s first newspaper.
John Fraser founded the radical Chartist newspaper, 'The True Scotsman‘, and developed a career as an international musician.
It's unknown what became of James Speirs.
